La rappresentazione della natura e della vita quotidiana erano tra i soggetti preferiti dall artista che è stato molto attivo e conosciuto nel modenese a causa della sua attività di grafico cartellonista per il Partito Comunista di Modena ed alle numerose mostre realizzate. Pittore instancabile, Pancaldi ha lavorato fino agli ultimi anni con immutata passione.
I disegni ed acquerelli che proponiamo sono un interessante testimonianza dell attività di studio che il pittore ha svolto soprattutto in gioventù.
